Paul David Estes

Paul David Estes was born April 25,1960. He was 61 years old at the time of his passing. He was the son of Patsy Louise Nelson Chandler and the late James David Estes. He was the grandson of the late Exie and Ike Estes and the late Edward and Merle Nelson. He was preceded in death by his father James David Estes. David was an avid motorcycle rider, racer, and builder. He loved competing with the bikes he built. He worked at Sanmina Corporation for the last 5 years as a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician. He formerly worked for Universal Corporation out of Binghamton, New York, as a Field Engineer. David was a part of the initial startup of Comptronix. He programmed and maintained all equipment and machinery at the old cotton mill location. He finished his career at Comptronix as a Manufacturing Engineer. David grew up in Guntersville, Alabama. He attended Guntersville High School and graduated in 1978. David went on to attend Gadsden State Community College where he graduated with an associate’s degree in science. David’s favorite past times were having family meals at his mom’s house, spending time with Peggy, and his beloved children and grandchildren. David loved water skiing and boating on Lake Guntersville, listening to rock and roll music, and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed playing golf with his sons. David was a world traveler. He had traveled to Europe, Mexico, and all over the United States. He and Peggy were planning a trip to Italy to visit his son Nick who is in the Army. Mr. Estes is survived by his partner Peggy Hudson of Guntersville, children Caleb (Caleigh) Estes of Guntersville, Nikolas Estes of Italy (US Army), Casie (Ryan) Icks of Owasso, Oklahoma, mother Patsy Louise Chandler, and stepfather Gene Chandler of Guntersville, grandchildren Cate Estes and Cole Estes of Guntersville, Gray Icks and Evie Icks of Owasso, Oklahoma, half- sister Erin Houck of Colorado, half-brother Eric Estes of Illinois, and Peggy’s children Derrick (Brittany) Dugan, Jamie Hudson, grandchildren; Ryleigh Dugan, Addison Dugan, and Camryn Dugan. Pallbearers will be: Randy Hulsey, Scotty Martin, Jamie Hudson, Derrick Dugan, Nick McAnnally, and Lukas Smolik. Services Entrusted to Carr Funeral Home Guntersville
